In the spirit of compassion and community, we embarked on a journey from September 26th to September 30th, 2023, to observe World Rabies Day. This annual global event serves as a reminder of the critical need for rabies prevention and the promotion of responsible pet ownership. Nestled in the heart of Kampala, Uganda, our community came together to celebrate this occasion with a series of events, each marked by dedication, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to make a difference.
The theme “All for One, One Health for All” captured the essence of this initiative. It showcased our commitment to creating a safer and healthier environment for both animals and humans, with a focus on accessible and responsible pet care.
With that the objectives of these community clinics were clear and unwavering
Provide free rabies vaccination for cats and dogs
Conduct free spay and neutering operations to commuinty pets
Offer washing and deworming services for dogs.
Empower pet owners through pet care advisory sessions.
Together with our partners at KCCA, we meticulously selected clinic locations, ensuring accessibility for communities in need. These strategic choices included Katanga Play Ground, Kasanga Seed Secondary School, Mbuya Community Hall, Kasubi, Mpererwe, Kiriri Grounds, Kinoni, and Mityana Headquarters. These venues were thoughtfully chosen to not only provide essential services but also to keep our communities safe from the perilous spread of rabies.
Let’s take a moment to shine a spotlight on the incredible significance of those yellow ribbons we handed out during our recent Rabies Immunization Community Clinics
Each yellow ribbon is a sign of safety. It tells you that a dog is vaccinated against rabies, safeguarding not just our pets but our whole community
These yellow ribbons are more than just a pop of color; they are a symbol of our unity and determination

The impact of these community clinics extended far beyond numbers. We administered a total of 1086 life-saving rabies vaccinations and performed 85 spay and neutering operations. Washing and deworming services were provided to 17 dogs, ensuring their holistic health, while pet care advisory sessions empowered pet owners with knowledge on responsible care practices.
