Clinic Objectives

Our mission is to create safer, healthier communities by promoting responsible pet care. In 2025, we aim to sponsor 38 clinic days, expanding from our efforts in 2024. Since January, we have spayed 350 dogs, preventing over 4,000 new puppies from being born in the next 12–18 months. Through these initiatives, we’re reducing stray populations and protecting both animal and human health.

Preventing mass poisonings in Kajjansi
We are proud to announce the successful completion of our 10-clinic series in Kajjansi, where our dedicated teams served 851 animals, performing 313 surgeries with a 51% surgery ratio to prevent mass poisoning and promote responsible pet care. To cap off this initiative, we held our final impactful clinic of this program in Wamala,, treating 153 animals and completing 77 surgeries, achieving a 58% spay/neuter ratio. These efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to ending rabies and improving animal welfare in Uganda.

Controlling a biting issue in Luwero
Luwero District, Uganda, is currently grappling with a surge in dog bite cases, some of which are suspected to involve rabies. Between January and December 2024, a total of 532 reported dog bite cases were documented across 18 subcounties and town councils, this presented a serious public health threat. Specifically, over 369 cases were caused by domestic dogs, mostly affecting the school going children and women. We are currently raising money to sponsor 5 Free Community Clinic days in May to vaccinate against rabies and control the overpopulation of new animals coming into the community.

By the end of the year, we expect to create 50 animal welfare Ambassadors for the next generation. We have been tracking all animal guardians, and a large majority are young boys, aged 8-12 years old, so we are proud to be turning these boys into responsible young men.

Highlight

Let’s take a moment to shine a spotlight on the incredible significance of those yellow collars we handed out during our recent Rabies Immunization Community Clinics.

Safety Mark
Each yellow collar is a sign of safety. It tells you that a dog is vaccinated against rabies, safeguarding not just our pets but our whole community. All of our animals are tracked online using the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC) tool. It allows us to identify hot spots and gaps in our clinics, allowing us to provide more coverage.
Community Awareness
These yellow collars are more than just a pop of color; they are a symbol of our unity and determination to eliminate rabies.
Easy Identification
With each unique identifying number, the animal can be tracked if lost, or determine if it a roaming animal moving long distances.
